Lovies Guitars is excited to present this Vintage! 1940s Gibson J-50 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar finished in Natural. Built by Gibson during the early post-war era, this J-50 represents one of Gibson’s most iconic slope-shoulder dreadnought designs, known for its warm, open voice, strong midrange presence, and beautifully aged tonal character.
This instrument delivers the classic Gibson acoustic sound—dry, woody warmth with excellent projection and a strong fundamental response. Decades of natural aging have opened up the tone, giving it a responsive, dynamic feel that excels in blues, folk, Americana, and singer-songwriter styles.
The Natural finish shows heavy vintage checking and honest wear consistent with its age, contributing to its authentic pre-war/post-war Gibson character and visual appeal.
Modifications/Repairs: Appears mostly original (OG). Strap buttons have been added. Endpin jack route has been plugged. Neck reset performed. Multiple historic crack repairs present, including a repaired side crack on the treble side and a smaller cleated side crack on the bass side. Back crack has also been repaired.
This guitar comes with a hardshell case (HSC).
Condition: 8.9/10 – Very Good. Strong vintage example with typical heavy finish checking and multiple professionally repaired cracks consistent with age. Scratch on fretboard near the 8th fret. Despite wear and repairs, it remains structurally stable and highly playable.
