Lovies Guitars is excited to present this 1978 Yamaha FG-470S Solid Top Acoustic Guitar finished in Natural. Part of Yamaha’s highly respected FG series, the FG-470S was built during an era when Yamaha established a reputation for producing exceptionally well-made acoustic guitars that offered outstanding value, reliability, and tone. Featuring a solid spruce top and classic dreadnought construction, this vintage FG delivers the warm, seasoned sound and dependable craftsmanship that have made these instruments increasingly sought after by players and collectors alike.
This FG-470S produces a rich, balanced acoustic voice with strong projection, warm lows, focused mids, and clear, articulate highs. The solid spruce top has matured beautifully over the decades, allowing the guitar to develop a responsive, open character that only comes with age. Whether used for strumming, flatpicking, or singer-songwriter accompaniment, it offers a pleasing vintage tone with excellent musicality.

Condition: 8.5/10 – Good. A handful of indentations are present on the top, along with a few small indents on the bridge. There is a finish crack at the neck joint that appears cosmetic in nature. Finish hazing is present on the sides and back. A small Sharpie mark is visible on the treble-side shoulder. Hardware shows typical tarnishing from age, and there is wear around the treble side of the soundhole. Overall, a well-preserved vintage Yamaha with honest cosmetic wear and great character.
