Martin & Company delivers the legendary dry, punchy mahogany tone that has made vintage D-18s a lifelong favorite of players and collectors. With its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this guitar offers strong fundamentals, clear mids, airy highs, and the mature openness only decades of aging can create.
A superb working vintage instrument, this example has been thoughtfully updated for modern use with changed tuners, an added transducer pickup, and a strap button installed at the heel. It has also had a recent neck reset and new saddle, giving it excellent playability with great action.
This guitar comes complete with its Original Hardshell Case (OHSC).
Condition is rated at 9.4/10 – Very Good (Nice for its age). There are several marks from honest play wear, including dings and buckle rash on the back. There is a filled ding on the side near the end pin, along with a few finish cracks. Importantly, there are no cracks in the wood. Overall, this is a well-maintained vintage player with strong structural integrity.
