A true vintage short-scale Fender with decades of natural character, this Mustang Bass delivers the comfortable feel, punchy response, and unmistakable old-school personality that have made these compact basses favorites among studio musicians and touring players for generations. Making this example even cooler, it was previously owned by Brad Fernquist of the Goo Goo Dolls, adding genuine artist provenance and serious rock and roll history to this vintage Fender.
The Mustang Bass’s compact body and 30-inch short scale create an incredibly comfortable playing experience with a quick, responsive feel. Its naturally focused low end, punchy midrange, and rounded attack sit beautifully in a mix, making these basses excellent for rock, alternative, indie, pop, and studio work. This example has non-original pickups installed, giving it its own distinctive voice while retaining the fundamental feel and character of a vintage ’70s Mustang Bass.
The Sunburst finish displays wonderful natural aging, checking, and honest wear earned over more than five decades. Unlike a modern factory relic, every mark and finish line on this bass tells the story of a genuine vintage instrument. It also features a non-original pickguard and non-original pickups. The frets remain in decent shape and the bass is ready to be played and enjoyed.
This bass comes complete with a Hardshell Case (HSC). Previously owned by Brad Fernquist of the Goo Goo Dolls.
Condition: 9/10 – Very Good. Displays typical finish wear and checking consistent with its age. The back has medium buckle rash, and there are a handful of dings on the back of the neck. The frets remain in decent shape. Features a non-original pickguard and non-original pickups. A great-looking vintage bass with honest natural wear and plenty of character.
