One of the earliest Historic Collection reissues from Gibson Custom Shop, this ’58 Les Paul Reissue captures the legendary look, feel, and tone of the original late-’50s Burst era. Built during the formative years of the Historic program, this R8 offers exceptional craftsmanship, a substantial vintage-style neck profile, and the unmistakable sustain and authority that have made these guitars favorites among players and collectors alike.
Featuring a solid Mahogany body with a carved Maple top, this Historic Reissue delivers the rich midrange, singing sustain, and dynamic response expected from a great Les Paul. The dual humbuckers produce everything from warm vintage cleans to thick blues and classic rock tones, while the substantial ’58 neck carve provides a comfortable and authentic vintage playing experience.
The gorgeous Lemonburst finish beautifully showcases the carved Maple top and gives this guitar the timeless appearance of one of Gibson’s most coveted vintage instruments. As one of the earlier Historic Collection models, this guitar represents an important chapter in Gibson Custom Shop history and remains highly desirable among Les Paul enthusiasts.
This guitar includes its Original Hardshell Case (OHSC). It has been fitted with non-original strap buttons, and the volume pots have been replaced. Otherwise, it retains its classic Historic character and outstanding playability.
Condition: 9.0/10 – Very Good. Shows light signs of play wear on the top, mild buckle rash on the back, and a small chip on the back of the neck near the headstock. Overall, a very clean early Historic Reissue with honest cosmetic wear consistent with careful use.
