Lovies Guitars is Excited to offer up this 2002 Gibson Memphis ES-135 Thinline Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar with a Gloss Black Ebony Finish! Essentially a hybrid of an ES-335 and an ES-175, this unique Gibson model boasts a thinline semi-hollow body, with a maple center block to improve note attack and reduce feedback. The result is a guitar that has the good looks of an ES-175 and the enduring popularity of the 335’s tonal palette and slender body depth. Not to be confused with the matte finish “studio” versions of the ES-135, this is the earlier iteration with a gloss nitro lacquer Black Ebony finish. Outfitted with the original pair of Gibson’s ’57 Classic PAF pickups, this ES-135 delivers plenty of bite, growl, and harmonic richness in the bridge position, contrasting nicely with the girth and warmth of the neck pickup, that sounds big while still clear and focused. The maple neck has a modestly slender C- shape at the nut, offering lots of shoulder in every register and tapering fuller up the bound rosewood fretboard. The scale length measures 24 3/4″, and the nut is a full 1 11/16″ in width. The headstock has a vertical script ES-135 silkscreen with the gold Gibson logo as well. The original chrome Grover Rotomatic tuners with metal tulip buttons are intact, turning very smoothly and holding pitch reliably. All of the electronics work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup wired to a three-way pickup selector toggle. The PAF stickers are intact on the baseplates of the ’57 Classic PAFs, and the wiring is untouched from the factory. The chrome pickup covers, Nashville bridge, and trapeze tailpiece are in fantastic shape, shining like new. The clean Gibson label with handwritten serial and model info is also visible through the bass side F hole and matches the serial number imprinted into the headstock. This Awesome instrument is in Great Shape with micro finish marks and a few minor indents on the body, some pickguard wear, minor stress cracks at the cutaway, heel, and veneer at the 1st fret and headstock joint, light hardware tarnish and headstock and neck have some very light marks, 8.8/10. ALL Original-NO Breaks, Cracks or Repairs. Includes an Original Hard-Shell Case!
