The Guild D-40 Bluegrass Special is a powerful, traditional dreadnought built for volume, clarity, and punch—perfectly suited for flatpicking, bluegrass, and strong strumming styles. Known for their exceptional build quality and rich tonal character, Guild acoustics from this era deliver bold projection, tight lows, and crisp highs that cut through any mix.
Finished in classic Vintage Sunburst, this D-40 has timeless looks and unmistakable stage presence.
This guitar is all original (OG) with the exception of a professionally installed D-Tar 18-volt pickup system, making it stage-ready with powerful, clean output. A strap button has been added to the side for comfortable standing performance. It comes complete with its Original Hardshell Case (OHSC).
Condition is rated at 8/10 – Very Good, showing medium pick scratches on the top, light finish checking along the binding edges, medium buckle rash, light scratches along the lower edge of the top, and a side scuff on the bass-side lower waist. All wear is cosmetic and consistent with careful use—no cracks, no structural repairs, and excellent playability.
