The Herb Ellis ES-165 is a classic, fully hollow jazz guitar known for its warm, articulate tone and elegant appointments. This example has been tastefully converted to a single neck humbucker configuration, fitted with a Gibson 490R pickup, delivering smooth, rich jazz tones with added warmth and clarity while maintaining the airy resonance the ES-165 is famous for. The figured maple body and Light Burst finish give it a refined, vintage-inspired look that’s perfect for traditional jazz, blues, and beyond.
This guitar comes with its Original Hardshell Case (OHSC). Condition is rated at 9.6/10 – Excellent, showing light aging to the hardware and very light surface scratches on the bass-side waist/lower knee rest area. All wear is cosmetic and consistent with careful use. No cracks, breaks, or structural issues.
