Lovies Guitars is excited to present this 2014 Gibson Custom Shop 1968 Historic Reissue Les Paul Custom finished in Black Ebony VOS. This is a killer Custom Shop recreation of the iconic late-’60s Les Paul Custom, featuring the classic Black Beauty aesthetic and Gibson’s VOS treatment. This particular example is especially interesting as a limited model made for the Japanese market.
This example rates 9.4/10 – Excellent. There are pickguard scratches consistent with light use, while the hardware has the expected VOS aging. One of the coolest details on this particular guitar is the interesting gold coloration on the pickup covers and tailpiece, giving it a unique appearance compared to a typical Black Ebony Les Paul Custom.
The nut and saddles have been replaced and are non-original. Otherwise, this is a fantastic-looking Custom Shop Les Paul Custom that retains its original character, VOS finish, and desirable Japan-market specification.
The guitar includes its Original Gibson Custom Shop Hardshell Case (OHSC) and Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
