Engelmann Spruce has a lush bell-like tone with broader and stronger overtone component. It is therefore a good choice for players who require a richer, more complex tone than can be obtained from the more common Sitka spruce top. Engelmann pairs very well with the rare Macassar Ebony which adds great bass and tonal complexity to the overall tone of the guitar. Like all McPherson guitars, this one comes with a proprietary offset soundhole and a cantilevered neck which enhances the tone of the guitar by allowing the top of the guitar to vibrate freely. Within the soundhole, a series of braces are designed to arch just under the guitar topwood with minimal contact, allowing tonal vibrations to be maximized while providing for structural strength. Its 3.5″ body depth gives it a delicate response which will certainly delight your ears. The guitar plays like a dream when plugged in and reproduces an acoustically rich and balanced tone thanks to onboard LR Baggs electronics which have been specially tweaked to perfectly complement each McPherson Guitar.
