Lovies Guitars has up for grabs a Gorgeous 2014 Collings CJ35G Acoustic Dreadnaught Guitar with German Spruce Top and Mahogany Back/Sides! The pre-war era of American flat-top guitar making has come to be known as “golden” for a reason. Lauded for its short but brilliant periods of construction innovation, the years from 1930-1942 were filled with new instrument runs that featured bracing, fret access and body dimension changes that would define the features and sounds of the modern acoustic guitar. The Collings CJ35G emerges out of this fascinating era of guitar making history. This slope shoulder 24 7/8″ short scale length design incorporates a non-scalloped bracing configuration featuring three tone bars. This provides the CJ35G with a beautiful balance of deep piano-like bass and powerful full-bodied highs, complimented by a focused dynamic range for exceptionally even note projection. The custom hand rubbed Varnish finish along with the stiff yet light German Spruce top accentuates the warmth, clarity and broken in feel you find in a vintage 30’s slope D but without the decades of playing time to break in. If you like the volume and tonal clout that comes from a fairly large guitar with deep sides, but you like plenty of treble and midrange to go with the bass, you’ll probably like this Collings CJ35G. This is a loud guitar with the tonal clarity to cut through any mix, but of course you can warm it a lot by playing over edge of the soundhole near the end of the fingerboard. And of course if you like that classic Gibson neck shape this CJ will win you over for sure. Near MINT Condition, just one tiny indent on the back!
