Like many of the earliest Tele-family models, this guitar starts with a pine body, which is then roasted to increase resonance and reduce weight. The rift-sawn maple neck’s 1950 Blackguard profile is sure to please vintage Tele fans, while the 21 Medium Vintage frets in a 7.25- to 9.5-inch compound radius combine easy open-position chording with the slick upper-range playability of a modern radius. A pair of hand-wound ‘50/’51 Blackguard Tele pickups bring the old-school twang, boasting a painstakingly period-correct construction that truly puts the power of a golden-era Fender in your hands.
