This stunning Gibson Lonnie Mack Flying-V is inspired by Mack’s 1958 Flying V, which was retro-fitted with a Bigsby Tremolo system. The tremolo was installed using a stainless steel bar attached to the guitar’s body, rather than being bolted to the body itself. The result is an utterly unique guitar capable of tones not usually achieved on the instrument. The guitar is lightweight, yet still has the huge humbucking tone one would expect from a Gibson solid body. This guitar plays like a dream up the neck and can cover a wide tonal spectrum, from jazz to the blues-rock Lonnie Mack was known for. The addition of the Bigsby makes this iteration of the Flying V coveted among players looking for a distinctive guitar that’s still rooted in the Gibson tradition!
