This elite recreation from the Gibson Custom Shop honors one of the most legendary guitars ever built—the 1959 Les Paul Standard—while delivering world-class craftsmanship, vintage-correct construction, and breathtaking visual appeal.
This example features an absolutely Monster Top flame maple cap with deep figuring and dramatic movement under the Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish. Paired with a lightweight mahogany body, hide-glue construction, and Custombucker pickups, this R9 delivers the rich sustain, airy bloom, warm lows, vocal mids, and sweet articulate highs that made original Bursts the benchmark for electric guitar tone.
The VOS (Vintage Original Spec) finish treatment provides tasteful low-gloss aging with authentic patina, and this particular example shows perfect natural-looking aging/checking that only enhances its vintage character.
This guitar is all original (OG) and comes complete with its Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and Original Hardshell Case (OHSC).
