Lovies Guitars has an Awesome 1983 Fender USA 2 Knob Stratocaster Dan Smith Era in an Electrifying Lake Placid Blue finish. This piece is what can justifiably be called a “Smith Strat”, after Dan Smith who was responsible for returning the Strat closer to its original spec, after many were disappointed with the changes in the ‘70s. Technically that entails a smaller headstock, a 4-bolt neck, and a truss rod adjuster on the high end of the neck, rather than a bullet truss rod at the top. The neck feel is awesome, with a shallow C shape that makes for a comfortable purchase on the instrument. The sound is where this guitar really shines, with that twang, quack and squawk that we all love from a Strat. The bridge pick-up has a great bite as well, which really helps cut through a mix. At over 8 lbs, this is hefty Strat but that makes for a tighter sustain! All told, this is a fabulous vintage Strat and a collector’s piece for anyone missing a “Smith Strat” for their collection! Overall, this guitar is in great shape, however, there are a couple decent sized indents and finish chips on the back, as well as a fair amount of finish marks/scuffs. All original! No Breaks or Repairs! Original Hard Shell Case included!
