Lovies Guitars is Excited to offer up this 1989 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Plus with a Natural Finish! The Strat Plus Deluxe Series, introduced in July of 1989, had some crossover with the Standard Plus. Now here is the odd thing about the Version 1 Deluxe Plus. For around 6 months they came fitted with a Silver/Silver/Blue combination of Lace Pickups. Oddly enough, some of the first Deluxe Strat Plus’ also came with a split Wilkinson nut long after Fender stopped using them on the Standard Plus’ which were already using the full Wilkinson nut. Many of the Version 1 Plus Deluxe’s also had Sperzel tuners (while the Standard Plus at this time used pretty much only Schaller tuners), and even weirder was the fact that many came with an E4, serial number even though they were introduced in 1989! Fender also used the E8 or E9 serial number as well at this same time. Why would Fender do that? It was like they were starting all over again as they did with the Standard Plus in 1987! Maybe using up old parts and serial number decals? By 1990 things started being more consistent, and the Deluxe’s came with full Wilkinson nut, Schaller Tuners, Blue/Silver (somtimes Gold)/ and Red Lace Sensors pickups. Also more accurate serial numbers were used around this time. Anyway this a great playing Strat that sustains for days and has that nice snotty sounding Lace Sensor honk. Version one came in many different variations so here are the details on the variations exhibited on this one: Silver Lace Sensors, pop-in trem arm, full Wilkerson nut, American Standard 2-point floating bridge and Sperzel locking tuners. This Axe is missing the back plate and has a tree setter system added, otherwise its ALL Original! In Excellent Shape with just a fair bit of minor dimples, indents and micro marks on the body, a couple minor indents and marks on the headstock and neck and some pickguard wear, easy 9/10! NO Breaks, Cracks or Repairs. Includes an Original Hard-Shell Case!!
