What truly sets the ES-335 Big Block Retro apart from other 335s is the way its design effortlessly blends aesthetic elements of some of Gibson’s most iconic thinlines. The body’s slim-taper horns recall the ESs from the 1960s, while the multi-ply binding is right off of an ES-345. Throw in the dark rosewood fingerboard’s mother-of-pearl big block inlays, which are inspired by the top-of-the-line ES-355, and this guitar conjures an attitude all its own.

Loaded with a pair of MHS alnico pickups, each with its own volume and tone controls, the ES-335 will dial in chiming country tones as easily as savagely distorted rock tones. The Alnico III neck pickup gives you classic hollowbody tones suitable for everything from smooth jazz to dirty blues. Flip to the Alnico II bridge pickup, and you’ll command sounds covering everything from bright and clean to raw and mean.

And a carefully calipered body cavity with a weight-relieved center block gives it its controlled howl and haunting sustain, all while reducing onstage feedback.
