Lovies Guitars is excited to offer up this 1956 Gibson L-48 Acoustic/ Electric Archtop Hollowbody Guitar with a Tobacco Burst Finish! The Gibson L-48 was the company’s most affordable post-war archtop, produced from 1946 into the late 1960’s. The guitar features a double-bound body with mahogany top and sides, and maple back. Dot-inlaid rosewood fingerboard, rosewood adjustable bridge, simple nickel-plated trapeze tailpiece, and Gibson decal logo. A surprisingly great sounding guitar, this L-48 has a depth of tone and a character you’d not expect of a laminate-topped Gibson. It has a smokey, and somewhat throaty mid-range with nice punch, well-developed basses, and well-dimensioned trebles. This great shape for its age with hardware tarnish, several minor indents and marks, buckle wear and finish checking, rated at 8/10. Has upgraded tuners, strap button added and missing pickguard. Free of any breaks, cracks or repairs. Included with this guitar is an original hard-shell case and a complimentary sample of Fret-Not, our preferred fretboard cleaner, check it out at! Thank you for considering this exceptional instrument from Lovies Guitars.
