Introduced in the early 1960s as Fender’s top-of-the-line offset electric, the Jaguar has become one of the most iconic and collectible guitars ever produced. Known for its distinctive short scale, unique switching system, and unmistakable single-coil chime, the Jaguar has found its way into surf, rock, alternative, indie, punk, and countless other musical styles. This 1963 example carries all the vintage vibe players love while featuring a number of player-focused updates that make it an outstanding stage-ready instrument.
The lightweight alder body and short 24″ scale provide a fast, comfortable playing experience, while the classic Jaguar electronics deliver everything from sparkling cleans to aggressive, cutting lead tones. The floating tremolo and distinctive switching system offer tonal flexibility unlike any other Fender, making the Jaguar one of the most expressive vintage electric guitars ever built.
This guitar has been refinished in Olympic White and features several professional updates including a new nut, a professional refret, and new strap buttons. The potentiometers date to 1981, indicating the electronics have been serviced during its lifetime. The pickup cover has been painted, and beneath the pickguard is a carved “Dave Bowie” inscription, adding a unique piece of the guitar’s history and personality.
It comes complete with a Hardshell Case (HSC).
Condition: 7.7/10 – Good. The guitar has been professionally refinished and shows heavy aging to both the finish and hardware. The pickup cover has been painted, and the electronics feature replacement pots dated 1981. Beneath the pickguard is a carved “Dave Bowie” inscription.
