Lovies Guitars is offering up this Vintage 1971 Martin D-41 Acoustic Dreadnaught Guitar! The Martin D-41 launched in 1969 as a high-end dreadnaught. While the wood make-up of the D-41 is similar to the D-28, the 41 features a set of premium cosmetic details such as elegant binding and hexagonal inlays. The modern D-41 also features gold-plated hardware and a high-polished gloss finish. Beautiful Rosewood with silky Spruce top and mahogany neck. Fully bound with white antique’d bindings. Rosewood peghead overlay with CF MARTIN inlaid in large stylized letters. Ebony fingerboard with hexagonal abalone inlays. Top has abalone purfling around top edge, soundhole rosette and along fingerboard extension. Wooden marquetry back strip. Cream heel-cap and end wedge. Ebony bridge. White pins with abalone dots. Tone is very strong. This guitar has been owned by a serious player for many years. Good punchy attack with a very strong voice. In a perfect world every 1970’s Martin would be built as good and sound as good as this one. In Great Shape, especially considering its age, however there is a fair bit of finish checking, marks and indents all over, a minor wear mark on top that was touched up, easy 8/10. Tuners and pickguard are not original (original tuners included), there was a professional refret and neck reset. NO Breaks Cracks. Includes an Original Hard-Shell Case!
