Lovies Guitars is excited to offer up this 1974 Gibson ES-335TD Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar with a Walnut Finish! Like the Les Paul, the ES-335 stands as one of Gibson’s all-time most iconic models. The ES-335 is a semi-hollowbody guitar which means that it has a solid block of wood running through its center with hollow wings on either side. This construction style maintains the open tone of a hollowbody while helping to reduce feedback. The ES-335 was introduced in 1958 and has remained in production in various forms ever since. The official model designation of the ES-335 is ES-335TD, with the TD standing for thinline, double pickups. ES-335’s like this one from the late 1970s are special. For one thing, the trapeze tailpiece gives ES-335’s from this narrow time slot a particular kind of clean sound, find it nowhere else and do anything you like with it. For another, a very few rare examples, this one for instance, have an extra coil-tap switch up top, which you can use or not, at your discretion. And this particular ES-335 has got a perfect neck profile, as comfortable as can be. This guitar is in great shape for its age with pickguard marks, hardware tarnish, light buckle wear, some light finish checking on the back and headstock, a couple indents and several light marks, rated at 8/10. All original and free of any breaks, cracks or repairs.
