Launched in 1963, the unusual offset design of the Gibson Firebird stood out immediately. Easily distinguished from the generic Stratocasters and Les Pauls of the day, the modern Firebird has stood the test of time through Gibson’s legacy as one of the best guitars they have ever made. This is evident through their passionate recreations in the custom shop today. Twisting the Firebird in 1976, Gibson celebrated the United States 200th birthday with details like a Bicentennial Firebird Motif, Gold Hardware, Tune-O-Matic bridge and subtle all black headstock. Not unlike similar guitars from this era, this ’76 Firebird is all original and features some play wear. None of the wiring schemes, pots or pickups have been tampered with. This guitar has a warm and classic sound that you can rarely find for this price. Definitely a special piece! This 1976 Firebird is in Excellent condition for an instrument of this age. There are a fair amount of indents and finish marks on the back and some light scuffing on the headstock as well as some minor fretwear but this is to be expected.
