Lovies Guitars is offering up this Vinatge Gibson Les Paul Custom with Gold Hardware in an Alpine White Finish! This early ‘80s Les Paul Custom features a nicely aged Alpine White/Ivory finish and gold hardware. Alpine White Les Paul Customs are of course most closely associated with Randy Rhoads, the guitar wizard who’s blazing riffs propelled Ozzy Osborune’s solo resurgence in the early 1980s. Just looking at this vintage beauty instantly brings to mind an MXR Distortion Plus, a blaring Marshall stack, and the opening riff to Crazy Train. In addition to Mr. Rhoads, Alpine white Customs can also be spotted in the hands of Steve Jones who provided distorted blasts of chords behindeJohn Lydon’s screams of anarchy during the Sex Pistols short tenure as the late ‘70s most infamous punks. Needless to say the white Custom is a rock machine, perfect for shredding leads and ear-splitting power chords in the bridge pickup position and chock full of thick and creamy goodness in the neck position. The frets run under the neck binding so they look to be the original ones. They have mild wear but not to the extent that it has a noticeable effect on playability. The mahogany neck sports an ebony fretboard and has a really fast and comfortable feel to it. The original gold hardware has some wear, congruent with the finish wear. It has the standard 24 ¾” scale and measures 1 11/16th” at the nut. As with many Alpine white guitars, the finish has taken on a yellowed tint with age. Excellent Shape for a guitar over 35 years old, however, there a fair amount of finish marks on the body, a minor crack on the first fret of the fingerboard and the neck is a bit roughed up. This Axe has been fitted with DiMarzio Humbucking Pickups, the tone/volume knobs have been changed as well, otherwise she’s All Original! NO Breaks or Repairs! Includes Original Hard-Shell Case!!!!!
